Dr. Ranjan Kumar Sharma

Dr. Ranjan Sharma is one of the most seasoned and renowned Interventional Cardiologists from Kolkata with over three decades of experience in clinical practise and around quarter century exposure of medical academic training. He is also the founder member of The Society for Cardiac Interventions.

Dr. Sharma has an impressive list of qualifications with MBBS, MD, DM (Cardiology), DNB (General Medicine) and Diploma in Cardiology to his credit. A Gold medal in MBBS examinations signifies his academic brilliance and success. 

Dr. Sharma holds the distinction of being the first Indian to work on the Delta Virus (virus responsible for causing Hepatitis D), at PGIMER, Chandigarh, way back in 1986. In one of his current research pursuits, he is working on Heart Sound Analysis in collaboration with IIT Kharagpur since 2010. Presently, he has over 30 publications in indexed journals, including those in 3 international journals.

Dr. Sharma has had such a wide teaching experience as a medical educator, that it may be said that he has moulded maximum number of medical students into able Cardiologists in Kolkata city. He has been practicing cardiac interventions since 1993. 

In his long span of career, Dr. Sharma has received the opportunity to serve in many renowned hospitals in Kolkata. Currently, his professional commitments lie with Columbia Asia Hospital - Salt Lake and Oasis Clinic located in Kolkata city where he may be consulted with an appointment, on scheduled days during his fixed hours of working.
